Advocacy: Working Together to Defend and Strengthen our Community
In these tumultuous times one thing we know is that successful advocacy takes a village.
While many of the tools and methods of advocacy in the nonprofit sector are still valid—and valued by elected officials—the rules of this game are changing, sometimes day to day.
This panel session will provide an overview of the current state of local, state and federal funding and issues that impact the arts and humanities.
This session will:
- Direct you to the information and tools to use for navigating both personal and organizational advocacy efforts
- Provide clear steps for exercising your advocacy muscle in defense of the most urgent issues facing our communities
- Recommend tactics for committing to advocacy year-round.

Rebecca Asmo, Executive Director, Ohio Humanities
Jami Goldstein, Chief Creative Officer, GCAC
Sarah Sisser, Executive Director, Creative Ohio
